ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility/Sustainability)
ISO 26000 is a Social Responsibility Guidance standard released in 2010. Social Responsibility is a gauge of how the organization operates in relationship to the environment and society. The objective of social responsibility is sustainability. Often times, we hear the term triple bottom- line that describes an organizations true impact going beyond just profits. Triple bottom-line refers to people, planet and profit People refers to human capital and planet refers to the environment. Social Responsibility allows an organization to understand the risk it poses both environmentally and with people.
